Full out 40 mph slide.
Back in November 2004 I got a medium 1/2 helmet from you for my work with the Southwest Rangers here in Tucson. Unfortunately, I recently had the opportunity to put it to the test when someone decided they didn't have to pay attention to a cop bike with lights and siren because their left turn was much more important ! Needless to say, the helmet held up wonderfully and is actually in better shape than the bike. Everyone was quite impressed that, while the paint was quite scraped, the actual shell material showed little abrasion. They were also quite impressed that the helmet stayed on and was so effective under the punishment of a full out 40 mph slide. So - thanks again for a great product ! I'd appreciate it if you could put me together another lid at your convenience (unfortunately, I'm out of the saddle for at least two weeks until a twisted knee and a sprained ankle heal up). Thanks again for the quality - I really believe that with any other helmet I'd be an organ donor right now.

Would have been seriously injured, even at such a slow speed.
9/04/04 Spent the Friday and Saturday of this Labor Day Weekend driving from Northern New York State to mid Ohio. I saw hundreds of bikers and was envious they were out and about without helmets and I was stuck in a vehicle. I arrived home at 2am, got some good rest and went out biking with my son through the mountains in the Lake Placid area. After a great afternoon of biking we arrived close to home and turned the corner on my road for the last half mile. The bike was doing 5 mph or less yet skidded in sand and down we went. I remember hearing my Nexl Model 05 bounce off the roadway. I was rather mad at the situation and the possible damage to the bike. I found I was cut on the eyebrow and was taken to the hospital. I received steristrips to close the wound and sent home. I looked at the helmet later and can say I would have been seriously injured without the helmet. Seriously injured even at such a slow speed. Guess I am not envious of all those (helmetless) riders I saw this weekend. Thank you.

Joe A's helmet took out the Windshield.
On 5/13/04 I was riding my Harley through the small college town of Newark, Delaware when a distracted student in the oncoming lane decided to make a left turn about 15 feet in front of me. I was going about 25 mph and she appeared to be doing the same. In an instant, I collided head on, flew off my bike and into her windshield. I did a head plant which took out the windshield, rolled me over the car and onto the roadway beside the car. This left about a 4 inch gouge in my helmet but no serious head injuries.
The paramedics were amazed (and maybe a little disappointed) that I was able to carry on a lucid conversation with them. Thanks to your superior product I was able to walk out of the hospital about an hour and a half later with no serious injuries. My doctor told me that without my helmet I would have been dead or had severe brain injury and it's an impressive fact that I'm able to write this email and send pictures 3 days after the accident. I have no doubt that without your helmet the outcome would have been very different for me. The wearability and durability of my Nexl helmet is incomparable! I'll be buying another one just as soon as my bike is repaired and ready to ride. Thanks to everyone at Nexl for your attention to detail and focus on quality. You are the best.

Slam Dunked by a Deer, II.
We were travelling Rt 6 just past Shohola Falls, PA at 4pm when a deer bolted in front of us and we hit him at 55, he rode with us as the bike went out of control, rolled and tumbled. I was knocked out and thrown off onto the road , Gary my partner went off the road with the bike into the weeds. I woke up face down on the yellow line in the middle of the road, traffic had stopped, people came to our assistance and we both went to the hospital. I had road rash, mostly my face, my partner had a broken thumb, the motorcycle, an Electra Glide was totalled. We now have a deer whistle on the new bike and are more cautious in deer country and limit our riding at night. Your helmet protected my head and obviously did an excellent job. please let me know if it's OK, it is the most comfortable helmet I have ever owned.

Dog Day Afternoon.
On 5/28/04 I hit a dog with my Road King as it jumped in front of me to chase a bike ahead of me. After sliding some distance the bike caught and flipped, throwing me to the pavement. After hitting the pavement (helmet had three different impact marks) I ended up on the opposite side of the road in a field. Although I was knocked unconscious for a few minutes, I only sustained a fractured clavical . No head injury, not even a headache. The dog survived also. I'm now ordering another 1/2 helmet to replace my damaged one, it did it's job. I've also purchased your helmets for my son and my wife. Thanks for a great helmet!

T-Boned II.
I'm writing to thank you for making such a quality helmet. I have a flat black half helmet. On 11/10/03 I was out for a ride on my 2004 Orange County Chopper when I was T-Boned by somebody driving a car and not paying attention. I suffered a compound fracture of my tibia and fibia which required two surgeries to repair. I also suffered numerous lacerations to my leg and face requiring a plastic surgeon to stitch. Thanks to your quality product I only suffered a concussion and was later told that the helmet was to be thanked along with my outstanding doctors for saving my life. So again thank you for making such a quality product, without it I might not have been here today.

Full Impact, Everytime.
My husband had a bad motorcycle accident the end of June 2003. He went over/off the road on Sonora Pass. When he was thrown, he flipped and skidded about 52 feet. He was wearing your NXT helmet and hit head first when thrown from the bike. He remembers thinking to himself, "WOW!! this helmet is really working. I wonder how long it will keep working." It kept working the entire time and he suffered absolutely no injuries to the head. The helmet took the full impact everytime he hit which is remarkable considering the size and weight of it. No Headache.
I was the first guy in my area to ride with a NexL helmet. Over the past two years it has always received compliments because it's so light and small. But it's protection effectiveness was sometimes questioned. It was tested 6/30/03 when I wrecked at 50 mph. Being in shorts and a tee-shirt, my road rash was extensive. But one thing the doctors didn't worry about was my head. The helmet sustained a six inch gash right down to the core fibre mesh, but none of my pain came from my head. I didn't even have a headache. I will DEFINITELY be buying another NexL helmet. This testimonial was not paid for and I have never even spoken to the people at this company.

T-Boned I.
Wanted to let you know I was involved in a motorcycle accident 6/20/03, I had purchased an NXT Scallop helmet 2 days earlier and was wearing it when the accident occurred. I was T-boned by a delivery van doing about 25-30mph while I was travelling at 30-35mph. I impacted the van with the left side of the helmet and then the pavement 34 feet away, striking my right forehead hard enough to gouge the lens from my glasses. The helmet performed exceptionally and I didn't have a mark on my head as a result. Thanks for producing an excellent product that is worth the price in such a situation. The newpaper article credited my appropriate motorcycle gear as contributing to the small degree of injuries I sustained in the accident. I hope to be out again after six months or so to repair my ankle and I guarantee your product will be protecting my head!

Could Not Believe The Difference.
I had no idea of NXT and I never wore a beanie in my life and really had no desire to since I ride a BMW K1200 GT, but your silver one just called out to me. It looked solid, contemporary and wearable. I tried it on, snug fit and I knew a good hat should fit that way. I got home, took it for a spin and I could not believe the difference this helmet made in my riding pleasure! GT's go fast and that's how I ride but the NXT felt like part of my head at any speed. The annoying sounds that collect in my full face are gone, the wind is still there but it's more like swimming in the pool as opposed to having a bucket of water on your head. My audio unit has a 10-20% improvement and is more comfortable to wear. I can smile at people, scratch my nose, swallow a big gulp of air and still feel relatively safe on my short distance rides in this thing! I love this helmet! Thanks for making such a quality product!

Most Comfortable, Wear It All Day.

Hard Impact.
I purchased a True Blue helmet from you in summer 2002. On 4/11/03 I was riding on Interstate 90 near Seattle, Washington, when I encountered severely rough pavement that caused me to lose control of my bike. I hit the ground at about 30mph, with a hard impact to my head, just behind my right ear. The helmet is scratched, and I suffered a concussion without losing consciousness. I truly believe that my helmet saved me from much more serious injury, and today I ordered a replacement so I can start riding again. This is a great product! Light-weight, and excellent protection for a reasonable price. I recommend it to all my friends.

Second NexL Helmet.
I just ordered my second NexL helmet today 6/21/04, replacing a gloss black half version with something a little snazzier (red) and with a much needed visor for summer travel. After reading some of your customer testimonials, and the complaints section, I thought it would be worth mentioning my experience.
I purchased my original NexL after trying every helmet brand I could find in my area. Yours was the only one that fit down on my rather square head well enough that I thought it might actually protect my head without the usual extreme vibration I suffered with my two previous half helmet purchases. My NexL helmet is completely comfortable, does not bob around on my head when I ride, and weighs so little I don't even think about it being on. People frequently accuse me of being embarrassed by helmet head because I don't think to take it off.
I would recommend your product to anyone looking for a comfortable well made helmet.

So Comfortable and Light.
On 3/29/03 I purchased the most comfortable helmet I have ever owned. A Silver Skull Beanie helmet. It does not move on your head at any speed up to 85 mph and when I stop I tend to forget I have it on, it is so comfortable and light. I have been wearing helmets while riding for 43 years, since 1960 and this is without a doubt the best I have ever worn. Keep up the good work. Thank you.

Slam Dunked by a Deer.
Friday 2/28/03 7pm EST, I was riding my bike along a rural road near home at about 45 mph. 24 hours later I awoke in the county hospital, a deer had blindsided me, it had struck me in the shoulder driving me and the bike down into the road. My head was smashed into the tar and gravel, I had gone from riding upright to flat on my side in a second. No time to react, no brakes, no clutch, just slam dunked. My NXT helmet took the abuse, no head injuries, not a scratch on my face. This very helmet saved me from a certain partial lobotomy!

Head On Collision.
The words thank you seems so trite compared to the enormous value of one's life. If it was not for your outstanding NXT helmet, I don't think I'd be here today. 1/11/03, I was riding my Harley through the small Southern California community of Fallbrook. In an instant, I realized I was having an accident. An 86-year- old man in his Plymouth Sundance pulled in front of me, causing a head-on collision. I found myself lying in the street with oil and gravel all over me and the bike... twenty-five yards from where I landed. My body hurt, but my ankle hurt even more. I looked down to notice my ankle at a forty-five degree angle from my leg. Lucky for me, the paramedics, hospital staff and doctors were able to save my foot. It wasn't until I returned from the hospital did I realize just how important it was to be wearing a Nexl. My silver NXT helmet had a 6" swathe of gashes. Gashes so deep as to expose the fiberglass fabric. The perfect fitting NXT did not slide on my head like most half-helmets or disintegrate into pieces like the novelty helmets.

Light and Very Comfortable Fit.
Over the years of riding I have worn and tried a lot of helmets, from non-DOT approved to full blown DOT monsters and I can honestly say that your helmets are incredible. They are safe, DOT approved, light and have a very comfortable fit. I rode two hundred miles the other day and to be perfectly honest did not feel like I was or had worn a helmet at all! No Longer Look Like the "Great Gazoo".
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Finally a Beanie/Half helmet that fits! I have searched high and low for a Beanie helmet to fit my rather small head. I slipped on your XS Beanie and was in heaven. Nice, snug, secure fit and best of all, I no longer look like the "Great Gazoo" going down the road!!
